Josh Balogh

My Story

I was raised in church from the time I was born through my graduation from high school. I proudly call myself a PK and church planter’s kid. I was deeply formed by the AWANA program and youth ministry of our local church as a teen. After graduating from Bible College in 2004, I’ve served the local Church in various roles and cities ever since. My hobbies include music collecting, music reviewing, creative writing, reading, and card games. I can often be found daydreaming about my next pressed Cuban sandwich. 

My wife Brenda and I met in College and have been married since 2005. We have four amazing and beautiful children. We love to host people in our home for meals, coffee talks on the porch, and game nights full of laughter. Our family places a high value on kindness, hospitality, and generosity and we have watched countless times as God takes whatever we bring with open hands and makes something miraculous out of it. 

My Hope for Overflow Church

My greatest hope is a courageous church, that hears and fully obeys what is asked of us by the Lord on behalf of each other and the world. This would include a stubborn refusal to move so fast or pack our schedules so full that we cannot hear the voice of God.
